The New York Times Publishes "The Consequences of Corporate America's Growing Addiction to Stock Options"

Today the following story appeared on the front page of the New York Times in the upper left corner.  The article highlighted several unexpected consequences of aggressive stock option programs and disclosed that neither Microsoft nor Cisco Systems now pay any federal income tax based upon the success of the scheme.

Directly beneath this story on the front page was a key H.M.O. related Supreme Court ruling saying that these organizations would not be liable for providing special financial incentives to doctors to hold down costs and restrict care.  To the right was a one column story on missing nuclear data from the Los Alamos lab. Perhaps this placement best dramatizes the significance of this story.  The story includes a few quotes from myself at the end and can be found by going to the NY Times archive and typing in Bill Parish in the search box.
